Faith Christian University was founded 20 years ago and during that time I have had many students ask, “Dr. Faith, how do I know I’m actually called to the ministry or just have a burden to minister? What is the difference?”
Let me hasten to say, There is a huge difference in having a burden for a ministry and being called to ministry. A burden is when you are moved to compassion and have a desire to serve in some capacity. This happens many times when a person goes on a mission’s trip.
On the other hand, a person may not only feel a burden, but actually have a call to ministry. In this case, the person should go beyond simply supporting the ministry work of others and actually take up their call, becoming a minister, themselves.
Whether you have a burden to help and support another ministry or you are called to minister you need to take the following steps:
Enroll in a Spirit-filled Bible school
Make sure you are taught the Word of God through anointed instructors.
Be committed to preparing to effectively fulfill your call.
Faithfully serve in another ministry.
The mission of Faith Christian University will Educate, Empower and Equip you for your ministry call.
