LIVING BY DEFAULT? OR LIVING INTENTIONALLY? by Dr. Faith Fredrick

John C. Maxwell, #1 New York Times bestselling author, has just published a great book called INTENTIONAL LIVING.

Here are some excerpts: We all have a longing to be significant. We want to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful. But many people wrongly believe significance is unattainable. They worry that it’s too big for them to achieve. That they have to have an amazing idea, be a certain age, have a lot of money, or be powerful or famous to make a real difference.

The good news is that none of those things is necessary for you to achieve significance and create a lasting legacy. The only thing you need to achieve significance is to be intentional. And to do that, all you need to do is start. You can’t make an impact sitting still and doing nothing. Every major accomplishment that’s ever been achieved started with a first step. Sometimes it’s hard; other times it’s easy, but no matter what, you have to do it if you want to get anywhere in life you must live intentionally.

In reflecting over my life I ask myself, “How many of my decisions were made out of an emotional reaction rather than being intentional. In 1989 the family and ministry that I had invested in for almost 30 years came to abrupt end – with one decision. It was devastating for my 3 daughters and me.s Everything in me screamed to simply escape but I knew that if I did not become extremely intentional I would blow any future God had for me.

Rather than sit and nurse my wounds I decided to make a daring step and enroll in Bible College over 1800 miles away.s Many wondered if it was the right move.s In 1992 I graduated and ventured to follow the voice of the Lord, which led to the founding of Faith Christian University.

If you have received a crushing blow and you wonder if God is finished with you –THE ANSWER IS NO, GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH YOU YET!

Friends, I pray that you will reach beyond your emotions and take a bold step to not be bitter and be become INTENTIONAL AND BE BETTER. It’s time to dig deep and begin to study God’s Word.
