The vision initially began with a passion to help pastors and ministers effectively fulfill the call of God. Together the Fredricks share a desire to prepare men and women of every race, church affiliation and age, regardless of personal background, to minister with a spirit of excellence and unity within the Body of Christ. As the vision took shape, the Lord began to send others to stand with them sharing the same vision and passion.

The ministry began as Faith Teaching Center in the summer of 1994 located in the heart of Orlando, Florida. Faith Teaching Center offered a Bible Institute and a variety of Biblically based support groups. Although it was a humble beginning, starting with only a few students, the Fredricks and their staff were undaunted as they began to see the vision come to pass. It wasn’t long before the Fredricks realized the sincerity of their students and the great need to take the ministry to the next level. Shortly thereafter, Faith Teaching Center became an extension campus of a notable Christian University located in Tampa, Florida. This affiliation brought greater potential and increased vision.

Growth came so quickly that within a few short years, the Fredricks found it necessary to seek their own accreditation. In January 2000 the Accreditation Commission International approved accreditation and Faith Christian University was birthed. Since the humble beginning of Faith Christian University, we

have issued degrees from the Associate level through the Doctoral level in Bible and Theology, Christian Counseling, Ministry and Leadership and Missions. FCU has experienced consistent growth and development out of the vision that began almost 10 years ago. The Fredricks have remained focused on the vision. Along with their commited staff, they continue to communicate the FCU objective.

Today, Faith Christian University has over 700 Alumni from every walk of life, income level, race, nationality and church background. Many are active in ministry throughout the Central Florida community serving their pastors and local para-church ministries. Some have pioneered churches and others are on the mission field. FCU alumni are increasing the kingdom of God from the neighborhood to the nations as they demonstrate the love and power of God!
